Bethune-Cookman University Appoints Dr. Albert Mosley as 8th President

Bethune-Cookman University has named Dr. Albert Mosley as its 8th President. A seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in higher education and nonprofit leadership, Dr. Mosley will officially begin his tenure on July 7, 2025.

As a first-generation college graduate from Shuqualak, Mississippi, Dr. Mosley brings a visionary approach to institutional growth and student success. Most recently, he served as President of Morningside University in Iowa, where he led the launch of new academic programs—including aviation, cybersecurity, and AI—and secured record-breaking philanthropic investments that expanded the university’s endowment and infrastructure.

“Dr. Mosley’s journey—from first-generation student to nationally respected leader—embodies the mission and future of B-CU,” said Board Chair Pete Gamble.

His appointment follows a national search that attracted over 130 applicants and culminated in a competitive, inclusive selection process guided by B-CU’s Board of Trustees and Presidential Search Committee.
