Talladega College has announced the appointment of Dr. A. Clifton Myles as its new Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective immediately.
Dr. Myles brings more than three decades of experience spanning Pre-K through higher education, including his most recent role as Provost and EVP at Denmark Technical College. There, he led institution-wide transformation efforts focused on student achievement, academic innovation, and external partnerships—efforts that generated nearly $100 million in grants and contracts over five years.
A seasoned HBCU leader, Dr. Myles has held academic and administrative roles across institutions in South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky.
Dr. Myles is the founder of the HBCU Learning Ecosystem, a national initiative fostering collaboration and innovation across HBCUs. His recent accomplishments include launching a Clean Tech Apprenticeship Program and securing a $10 million clean energy grant in partnership with the Department of Energy.

Dr. Myles holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech, a Master’s in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a BFA from North Carolina A&T State University.
