The Bennett College Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Teresa Hardee as Interim President, effective immediately. Dr. Hardee steps into the role during a pivotal period of strategic renewal for the college.
A seasoned higher education leader with more than two decades of experience, Dr. Hardee brings deep expertise in finance, operations, and institutional transformation. Her career spans senior roles in colleges, state agencies, and the private sector—most recently focused on driving student success and operational excellence at institutions in transition.
In this interim capacity, she will lead efforts to grow enrollment, strengthen financial stability, and modernize core business processes.
“We are confident that Dr. Hardee is the right leader to guide Bennett College through this important period,” said Cassandra Jones Havard ’78, Chair of the Board. “Her commitment to women’s education and track record of driving change in complex environments will serve the institution well.”
As one of only two HBCUs exclusively for women, Bennett College holds a unique place in American higher education. Dr. Hardee will work closely with students, alumnae, faculty, and staff to ensure the College continues to live out its mission while laying the foundation for long-term sustainability.
