Tuskegee University has announced the appointment of Dr. A.L. Fleming as its new Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, effective April 1. Dr. Fleming brings a strong track record in fundraising and alumni engagement, most recently serving as Senior Director of Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. His career also includes leadership roles at Albany State University, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and South Carolina State University.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Fleming to Tuskegee University,” said Dr. Mark A. Brown, President and CEO. “His experience in fundraising, accounting systems, and technology will transform how we attract, process, and manage gifts. I’m especially excited about his vision for engaging our alumni community.”
Dr. Fleming holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University, a master’s in Educational Management from Strayer University, and an Ed.D. in Education from National University.
In his new role, Dr. Fleming will report directly to the president and oversee fundraising operations, gift processing, and the university’s Alumni Affairs team.
