Grambling State University has appointed Dr. Kenyatta N. Shamburger as Chief Operating Officer, effective July 28, 2025, following a national search. A veteran higher education administrator, Dr. Shamburger brings over 20 years of leadership experience spanning operations, student affairs, and executive administration across institutions including Talladega College, Philander Smith College, Iowa State, Clemson, and Morehouse.
In his new role, Dr. Shamburger will oversee key operational areas including Facilities, Capital Projects, IT, Public Safety, and Emergency Management—advancing Grambling’s strategic priorities under President Martin Lemelle’s leadership.
President Lemelle stated, “Dr. Shamburger brings the experience, insight, and passion to help us build the systems that will carry Grambling forward.”
Dr. Shamburger added, “Grambling is a storied institution with unlimited potential. I’m honored to join this mission-driven community at such a pivotal moment.”
