North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has named Katreshia Louis-Verrett, J.D., its next director of Intercollegiate Athletics. She will begin Sept. 1, overseeing 17 athletic programs, more than 300 student-athletes and nearly 50 coaches and staff members.
Louis-Verrett returns to A&T after previously serving as associate athletics director from 2011 to 2017, where she oversaw compliance, human resources and 33 staff members, including seven head coaches. She currently serves as deputy athletics director at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has more than 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics, including leadership roles at Georgia Tech and service on key NCAA committees.
She succeeds Earl Hilton, who is stepping down after 15 years as athletics director.
“At North Carolina A&T, our commitment to student success is our No. 1 priority, and that certainly includes the success of our student-athletes,” Chancellor James R. Martin II said. “Katreshia is equally passionate about that commitment.”
Louis-Verrett, a former University of Miami track athlete and two-time Big East champion, brings experience in NCAA compliance, NIL strategy, Title IX and sports administration. Her appointment comes as universities navigate significant changes in college athletics, including student-athlete revenue sharing and increased oversight of NIL agreements.
“I am humbled, honored and excited to serve North Carolina A&T State during this transformative period for college athletics,” Louis-Verrett said.
