The Virginia State University Board of Visitors has approved a contract extension for President Abdullah, securing steady leadership and momentum for one of the nation’s most forward-moving HBCUs.
Since assuming the presidency in 2016, Dr. Abdullah has guided VSU through record-breaking enrollment, enhanced fiscal strength, and national recognition for innovation and student success. Under his leadership, the institution has expanded scholarship opportunities, launched workforce-aligned academic programs, and earned multiple years of record fundraising.
